This Japanese pottery vase or jar was made during the late 19th century or early 20th century. The vase is decorated with an intricate multicolored floral pattern and covered in gold paint. The sides of the piece are decorated with two pictorial cartouches depicting groups of people in the countryside and enjoying tea. The piece has two reticulated handles. There is a small mark in a cartouche on the bottom of the vase. The pottery and decorations are in very good condition.
