This is a Signed Meiji Period Japanese Satsuma Porcelain Covered Jar. The piece is decorated with a family scene on one side, village mountain scene on the other, and highly detailed various designs on the lid and borders. It is signed on the bottom by the maker and has the Dai Nippon mark. The jar dates to the Meiji Period. It is 9 ¼ tall and 7 ½ in diameter. The jar is in excellent aged condition with no cracks, chips, or repairs. It was acquired from the Estate of a Prominent Collector of Asian Antiques.
